We’re snowed in! The last thing wealthy photographer James Bradburn expects when he turns in after his surprise birthday party is to find a beautiful woman asleep in his bed. The last thing Leah Harmony expects after fending off an attack and succumbing to exhaustion during the party is to find herself stranded for four long days—and longer nights—with the sexy, enigmatic birthday boy at his isolated Gold Coast mansion. A record blizzard has trapped them together.

Leah traveled to New York to confront the monster whose callous brutality altered her family forever. Now all she wants is to run back to Arkansas and forget she ever heard of James Bradburn. She guards a stunning secret as she struggles to resist the dangerous attraction that crackles between them. Of all the men in the world, James is the last one she should even think of that way! Little does she suspect he harbors a secret of his own.

I just found a new favorite! I love this story. The characters, the plot, the writing. Everything. I was completely blown away by Snowed. It wasn't what I was expecting at all. I picked this book up expecting a short erotica or something, but what I got was a deeply moving story that had me sighing, laughing, crying, giggling, and grinning like a doofus at every turn. Seriously… my cheeks hurt.

I normally dislike reading about characters under the age of 25, but Leah was a joy to read. She was mature, articulate, educated, compassionate. I could go on and on. James is charming, funny, caring, and delicious sounding. He's also a very prideful man. Also, their sarcastic banter was great. There were times though, that the intimate moments were so personal that I felt like a voyeur or something.  The chemistry between James and Leah is definitely palpable.

Overall I am so happy I grabbed Snowed. (I almost didn't get it because I hate the cover…) This book was a fast-paced read that as soon as I was done, I wanted to go back to page 1 and start all over again. I did have a small problem at the end of the book though. James and Leah had an argument and she walked away from him, and he just let her go. He had claimed to love her but wouldn't fight for her at all. And when they bumped into each other a couple months later, he admitted that it was purely by accident and that he didn't purposely seek her out… so they may have never gotten their HEA.

Anyway, it obviously worked out, or the grade would have been worse. And despite that, I loved this story so much… I just didn't care. I do wish we had gotten James side of the story more than the little tidbit right after the two split up, but I can't have everything I want in the world. I so loved Snowed, I wish it were a bound book so that I could give it a special place on my personal keeper shelf. I highly recommend it.

James stopped eating only long enough to snicker, "Looks like I got myself snowed in with Florence Nightingale."
Leah wondered how he'd look wearing that spaghetti.

His tender expression slid into a full-blown grin. "If you blush any harder, you'll explode."
The swine. "Thanks so much for pointing that out."

“You put him to work fixing machinery?” Leah watched as, in the distance, James gave a wide berth to something in the grass that caught his eye. Merl cackled. Leah groaned. The last thing she’d expected to see today was James Bradburn, Jr., looking like a greasy mechanic and dodging meadow muffins in her folks’ pasture.

“Better slow down, cowboy.” She was still picking at her first fillet. “You pack enough of this stuff away and ‘all you can eat’ will turn into ‘all you can do to make it to the bathroom.’”
